Basic Guidelines -Be polite and kind to all. Here, we're all one big Pack, so no put-downs or threats.
-Do not use foul language.
-Do not post inappropriate images/concepts such as pornography, racism, sexism, etc.
-Contacting: Do not abuse the e-mail/PM privilege! If you don't want to be sent a certain kind of e-mail (ads, offers, chains, etc.) specify in a seperate thread in the General Board.
-Characters: Each user may have seven characters total on their first account. You may have three other characters on a second account, but the e-mail address must be the same as your first account so the administrator knows who you are. If you are caught using a second e-mail without informing an administrator, your second account will be deleted. If you are an administrator or moderator, your first account only will have those privileges.
All Packs -A year is 12 weeks OOC, all told. Each week is a moon, and 3 weeks=1 season.
-Every season, a Meeting is held in Sky Valley so the Packs may discuss their problems or report on their status as a Pack. This is a time of peace for the four Packs and a sacred rule declares that you may not fight physically during this time. If the leaders fight verbally, GhostPack may send a warning by casting a cloud near the moon, etc. The Gathering is declared over when GhostPack covers the moon.
-Each IC post MUST be a MINIMUM of 4 sentences. If not, your post will be deleted and you'll have to start over. OOC posts may be shorter, but please don't make it simply one word.
-All OOC (Out Of Character) posts must be marked by either OOC- or double parenthesis (()) around the words. You may not post OOC on the RPing boards without an accompanying IC of the correct length unless it's an emergency.
Pack Life -Each Pack has an Alpha and a beta to run the group. When the Alpha dies or retires, the beta becomes Alpha and appoints his or her own beta.
-Only Alphas or betas may call patrols. -If Alphas are absent for a period of time IC or OOC, the beta is in charge. If the Alpha is not active for two months straight or leaves the site, the beta automatically becomes Alpha.
-It's the warrior's duty to hunt, lead or be part of patrols, teach the pups and protect their Pack. They must follow their superior's orders.
-Apprentices will become warriors after a certain period of time for training under a senior warrior. Their Alpha must inspect them before allowing them to complete the Rite.
-Pups may become apprentices when they reach the age of 6 moons. (Equivalent to 2 weeks) Their Alpha should keep an eye on this and complete a ceremony when it's time for them to become an apprentice, and the Alpha will assign a Guide for each apprentice. (Guide=Warrior mentor)
Hunting -Wolves may only hunt in their own territory.
-Each Pack usually hunts together. They can bring down animals that range from the size of a buffalo (requiring a full hunting pack) to a small deer. This will feed an average-sized Pack for the day. Wolves may also choose to hunt on their own: if so, they can catch anything from a small deer to a mouse. Loners may only catch this small prey.
-Wolves will not be able to hunt or kill the following: mountain lions, bears, wolverines, badgers, dogs*, foxes*, other wolves* etc. It's impossible or else very difficult for a wolf to do so, and a real wolf would never approach such prey. If you are uncertain about a certain animal, ask an admin. *Wolves can kill these, but they do not eat them.
Fighting -If two or more Packs are fighting each other, each leader must have previously agreed to have their Pack be a part of it OOC.
-Surprise raids may be conducted on an enemy camp, but the party may only be made up of five or fewer wolves.
-There may be border fights when two patrols clash over boundaries, and that may occur whenever two patrols cross each other's paths. Packs can post in the Borders boards to represent their wolves being close to the other Pack's territory if they wish to engage the other Pack, etc.
Mating -All boards except Camps may be used for mating, though certain are traditional or customary and are marked so in their description. Keep in mind where you are mating (for example, no one wants to mate right next to camp) and be sensible about it.
-If your mating (this can also occur when fighting) gets graphic, please edit the topic title with an X-X-X at the end. (Idea credited from Wild Sonnet)
-Females can have pups approx. 9 moons after mating. (9 weeks)
-If you have decided to have pups, both the male and female must agree by PM or OOC and must inform an administrator.
-Parents decide on the pups's features and names.
-Litters may be anywhere from 1-8 pups. Parents may play one or some of their pups, but they must remember the 7-character rule limit. If need be, some pups will be put up for adoption.
Any questions/comments will be directed to Fell via PM or e-mail.
